 School year: 1st and 2nd primary education (with the colaboration of 3th, 4th, 5th and 6th levels)

Subject: Social Sciences, Lengua and English

We are going to learn in social sciences and also in the subject Spanish language and English about Egypt in first and second grade of primary education. (Although 3th, 4th, 5th and 6th levels will colaborate)

This activity takes part of a project that I have iniciated after this course and I am going to explain the parts of Anticiption, mini lesson, active participation and reflection. I am yet processing it and the final task will be done after Easter holidays.

Taking into account the principles of UDL it will have the different parts:

Anticipation (background): Students will be motivated through a song, ‘Egypt song’ that at the end they will sing and dance for parents. And then we will learnt about the matters that are mentioned in the song.


We also will decorate some corners with egyptian things made by the students and teacher. In this way they have been motivated.

And they also will be able to read about Egypt in different books.


Representation: throug videos in Spanish and English and also some books about Ancient Egypt children will be provided in more than one format with information.

As mini lesson: they will watch videos in Spanish (erase una vez el hombre and happy learning in sessions of  ‘Lengua española’ and in English (happy learning) about Ancient Egypt in social classes during some days.

 About active learning: we are going to do two different task.

Task 1: we will explain to the parents some information about Ancient Egypt. Each child will have a giant card where there will be some information in Spanish but they will say this information in English (previously performed in classroom).

Task 2: children will sing the Egypt song and they will performance an Egyptian dance for parents. It will be also previosly trained in classroom


About reflection: We will make a giant poster with the information that we have learnt about Egypt and we will explain it to other courses and also will play the Egypt song. It is not yet finished because it is expected to be finished after Easter holidays, but we are working a lot.

We also will do different activities for reflection designing Learning Stations for review. In different stations 4 different activities will be designed as reflection.

1.       Whacth a review video

2.       Finish the sentences (from this course)

3.       Complete a pyramid with social classes in Ancient Egypt.

4.       Make a sarcofagous

 

PD:

-Children of 3th, 4th, 5th and 6th level also will take part in the last activity because I teach English to all of them
