BASIC ELEMENTS OF VISUAL ARTS, by Ana Cristina

The activity is designed to work on the basic elements of the visual arts.

In the first part, students receive an oral explanation and examples of the different elements in artworks by different artists: point, line, color, texture...

Then, each student has to find 2 images of an artist in which they have observed any of the elements discussed.

 Diagonal, 1930 - Wasssily Kandinsky

The dance, 1910 -Henri Matisse

Painting, 1933 - Joan Miro

Seated woman in an armchair, 1941 - Pablo Ruíz Picasso

Working in pairs, they will comment and analyze together the works chosen by both.

To finish, they will take part in a guessing game in which each couple describes one of their works attending to the main elements explained and the other groups have to guess which one it is. The guessing couple will be in charge of describing one of the images chosen by them for another group to guess.
